Based on media coverage, conventional wisdom suggests Wall Street would favor Republican Party candidates when donating to campaigns. But that’s not the case.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics Web site OpenSecrets.org, out the top 25 political contributors for the 2008 election cycle, nine were Wall Street banking or investment firms, including the now defunct firm Lehman Brothers. Employees at eight of those nine firms gave more money to Democratic candidates – nearly $17 million to Democratic candidates versus only $11 million to their Republican counterparts. That’s 60 percent for Democrats to only 40 percent for Republicans.

Follow the world markets to see what they think about this bailout. As of a few seconds ago, most of the Asian markets are rapidly declining. Some of the Asian markets opened down and seem to be going further down.

As we leave you with this final post for the evening, we're hoping the Republicans refuse to vote for this bailout. Take a page from Senator Obama and vote "present" or "no".

This is merely a band aid covering a larger wound.

We're still the greatest country in the world. We just can't seem to vote people into elected office that give a rip about her. Wall Street has thumbed its nose at Americans one too many times, but failed to realize it is the average American that keeps this country going. Yet again, the American people are being asked to bail out Wall Street.

Enough is enough.

SPREAD THE MESSAGE FAR AND WIDE, THIS IS OUR COUNTRY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!! SEND THE EMAIL TO ALL PRESS, RADIO, TV, 24 HR NEWS, CANDIDATES! SEND IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN! LET THEM KNOW WE ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND WE CAN NOT BE DEFEATED!!! CONGRESS WANTS WAR!

For far too long the American people have sat back and watched for any hope of one day again having a government that takes care of its people rather than the powerful and rich few. It is with great regret that this day has been thrust on the hard working, good intentioned people of America. As of this writing we understand that there has been a tentative agreement to the $700 billion bailout of the power elite. Creating a debt that will be borne by the American taxpayer. This will not stand. Today many Americans are disappointed that after letting their Congress men and women know in no uncertain terms that this bailout is unacceptable. Congress has chosen to go against the will of the people they serve. It is time for the American people to understand we are at war. I do not use the term 'war' lightly. It matters only that we the people did not declare it, our government did, and to exact a war, one has to know who our government this time has declared war on. It is not the oil rich Middle East. Simply put, it is the American taxpayer. It is after having for many years backed away from a commitment agreed to by our forefathers, that we the people today must act.

Our forefathers warned that there would be days like this, and they were very succinct in their response for the actions we should take in this eventuality. When our government runs amok, it is incumbent on we the people to overthrow it. Many for years have believed that terms like 'overthrowing the government' related to revolution meant guns, bombs, killing. Because of that reality, it has been removed from the minds and hearts of most people. The war to which I speak, the revolution that we must engage in, will use no such weapons. There will need to be no mad rush to buy ammunition for the guns that shall and will remain silent.

Rather still we will use the weapons left for us by our forefathers and more lethal today than any military concept. It will be all the ammunition we will need. That is our voice, our voices collectively, and our vote. With these weapons and ammunition, we will charge forward to overthrow a government that has absolutely ignored every man, woman, and child regardless of race or creed without the luxury of wealth. Starting this day we will notify Congress, both Democrat, Republican, the president, the vice president, and both presidential candidates. This will not stand. The war will move presently on two fronts. The first front is self-explanatory. It will be political. To all in power that sign on to this bailout, you will be defeated in November.

The Nancy Pelosi's, the Harry Reed's, tonight we remind you, there was a time when the Republicans had control, and in case you have forgotten that was just two years ago. The American public gained the power in congress. This will happen again. And to the Democrats that believe they are immune to the conservative outspoken portion of America, you need only to know this: This day there is no conservative, no liberal, no republican, no Democratic - there are only Americans, and whichever party is in office this day that signs on to this bill, they will lose in November. And so I would say to the Democrats who are laughing all the way to November, believing that they will gain power, more control, and have their terms at an absolute bow once again in Congress, you have made a serious mistake.

If you add it up, Democrats have more seats in Congress, so therefore you, Pelosi, Reed, you have more to lose - for everywhere there is a Democrat in Congress being challenged by a Republican, the Republican will win; and for every Republican in office, there will be a Democrat that will win. Do the math and look at where the power will lie.

To Obama and McCain: The American people believe, as you have with the cooperation of the media, convinced them that there is no choice; one or the other. Let me be very clear. There are other choices, and the mantra that will run throughout this nation will be 'anybody but you.' I know that you believe that there cannot be a third party candidate that could surely glean enough votes to actually win. You may be right. But as both of you should be keenly aware, neither of you have a vote that you can afford to lose. Most directly to you, McCain, believe these words today, for any vote passed for a Libertarian candidate or the Constitutional candidate or the Green Party candidate, the deficit will be applied to you more so than Obama. Make your choice well who you believe, and I will give you the choice that should be the will of the American people.

Do not worry, Obama, for you are not free of risk because you should know better than anyone the damage this bill will cause to those of color in this country, and maybe they will figure out that you are more closely akin to the rich and power elite than you are to them. The second front will be more serious than that of simply politics. If this bill passes under the pretense that if it is not done then there could be runs on banks forcing the collapse of our financial institutions.

To all of the people of America, that may be you will turn into an absolute, with the passing of this bill, all Americans that cannot take it any more than have been pushed to the bottom more and more every day, your task is simple. They are afraid of a run on banks. You, we, will give it to them. With the signing of this bill, all are to go to their financial institution, get in line, and pull every single dollar out of your bank. I know you think that extreme.

We did not ask for this course. We did not choose this action. Our government betrayed us and sold us out. They have given us no choice. We did not pick this battle, but it is still within us that if a battle is to be waged, we the people will choose the battlefield. To this end, I say to you, the false entity that we still call our government, you are forcing the hand of the people you are supposed to serve, and you will be dealt with swiftly and absolutely. To this corrupt form of government, you seem to have forgotten amidst the phone calls, the emails, the letters, that these interested people trying to communicate with you are actually the people you work for.

You represent us. We are not your pawns to be led blindly around. Choose wisely your actions because the American people have drawn finally a line in the sand, not of our choosing but out of necessity, to overthrow the government that has betrayed us. I intend that this message be sent to you directly by as many people who feel obliged to do so. It is only important that you hold, not the people that have become so compelled to take action, accountable. If there is retribution, I suggest you aim it at me.

ACORN outrage removes affordable housing provision

HELL YEAH AMERICA!!

Although, no celebrating should be done until we know this provision is absolutely removed and won't appear in any bills by some sneaky politician.

As for the "affordable housing provision", as we've pointed out...there are a lot of shady dealings for which ACORN has come under investigation with misuse of housing funds and voter registration funds.

Anti-Palin Astroturfing Traced Directly to Axelrod-Connected PR Firm

If, as seems to be the case, Axelrod hired Winner and Associates to do this, then there had better be a disclosure somewhere in Obama's FEC filings that he's hired this company through Axelrod. If he's deliberately hiding firms he knows to be working for him, that has got to be a violation of the law.


I know Rusty has been searching the disclosure forms and hasn't seen Winner and Associates listed yet. If Axelrod is hiring them through some cut-out to deliberately avoid disclosure....

Breaking News - FBI serves search warrant against David Kernell

The FBI is stepping up its investigation into the possibility that a University of Tennessee student hacked into the personal e-mail of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

A person who identified himself as a witness tells 10 News that agents with the FBI served a federal search warrant at the Fort Sanders residence of David Kernell early Sunday morning. Kernell lives in the Commons apartment complex at 1115 Highland Ave.

David Kernell is the son of Mike Kernell, a Democratic state representative from Memphis.

A Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed there has been "investigatory activity" in Knoxville regarding the Palin case, but she said there are no publicly available search warrants, and no charges have been filed.

Take a look at the picture to the left. Is he the one responsible for hacking into Governor Palin's Yahoo email account? If so, this spells trouble for the Democrats.

David Kernell, pictured to the left, is the son of Democratic Rep. Mike Kernell.

Kernell's YouTube site is now closed, but thanks to other blogs a cached picture has been saved. You can find it here. His Wikipedia page was here, but has since been cleared out.

It will be interesting to see what the MSM does in covering David Kernell. If this young man is found to be guilty, he will be spending a lot of time in jail unless a plea bargain is put on the table. However, how willing is the Secret Service to let this kid loose? Not very likely.

Update: According to HillBuzz Blog, Mike Kernell has confirmed his son was the one that hacked Gov. Palin's email account. Lovely.

Hats Off to PUMAs

This week begins the Democratic National Convention. Anticipation of the One's coronation has been months in the comng, but for the rest of us we're just waiting for it to end. However, this week also highlights the effectiveness of the PUMAs. PUMAs have been a force that the DNC tried to ignore. No longer will they be silenced. Their message is being heard across the nation. If Obama loses this election, we will have to thank the PUMAs for their hardwork and effort. Many thanks to one particular PUMA named Paul F. Villarreal. We hear from a good friend of ours that he's quite a nice guy and encourages everyone to pass his video links out to as many Americans as possible. We're doing our part, Paul. Thank you!

Cruising online through the various entanglements (or should I say militant encampments) of Democratic supporters can be trying. Pop a few Tylenol and let me explain what I'm talking about.

During the Republican and Democratic primaries, each of the candidates is trying to win as many delegates as possible. The Democrats have a total of 4,048 to be won (or more likely divided among the Democratic candidates) and the Republicans have 2,380 delegates for their side.

The goal for any of the Republican and Democratic candidates is to have the most delegates as quickly as possible. For the Democrats, the magic number is 2,118 while the Republicans magic number is 1,191.

Seems relatively simple, right? First person to the magic number is the nominee. Well, this is politics after all and nothing is simple when dealing with politicians, political pundits, and the idiots that came up with these structured primaries.

Luckily or unluckily, depending upon your point of view, McCain has reached the magic number and will ride into Minnesota as the Republican nominee for President. Goodbye to McCain for now as you've done your part for this election.

Then there are the Democrats. Why people trust Democrats to run the country when they can't even agree on their nominee is beyond me.

Following the disasterous Carter campaign in 1980, the Democrats decided that more "politicians and revered political figures" in the Democratic Party needed to be more involved. This was obviously their first mistake---thinking politicians need more involvement. Anyways, the rules committee created the Superdelegates or sometimes referred to as "unpledged, but you can buy my vote" delegates.

What is the difference between a super and a pledged?

A pledged delegate goes through the state party's nominating process to have the distinction and honor of proudly showing their face on TV as a Democratic delegate. Sad, but some people want their Paris Hilton 15 minutes of fame too.

Whereas an unpledged or Superdelegate, are not bound by any state elections and include all of the members of the Democratic National Committee and elected officials such as members of Congress and governors according to the NY Times. In other words, the superdelegates are made up of aggravating Democratic politicians (past and present) that you want to see less of on TV.

As we stand today, Barack Obama has 1,661 pledged delegates versus Hillary Clinton's 1,592. Remember, the magic number is 2,118 for the nomination. Obviously, neither candidate could close the deal. Yet, Obama rides into Denver as the presumptive nominee---unlike McCain who knows he won.

Now the real fun begins---what will the Superdelegates do? Will some switch to Hillary Clinton or will more of her Supers switch to Barack. This is the obvious question that will have a definitive answer at the Democratic convention.

In the meantime, Clinton supporters are raising cane over Barack's obvious "experience issue". Add into the mix the effectiveness of McCain's YouTube and TV ads and many Democrats are worried. Barack supporters--God love them--are not worried in the slightest. They see Barack as the person that will change the landscape of American politics forever. I believe they're correct.

Race relations will be set back a hundred years with his candidacy. While we're told that voting against Barack is "racist", so is a host of other "trigger" words that cannot be used when referencing blacks or Barack. The truth of the matter, the damage by Barack Obama has been done.

Buyer's remorse is setting in for many Democrats that support Hillary Clinton. Check out the PUMA blogs on the right hand side and you'll understand. However, it leaves a scary horizon for which racial identity politics is now front and center in American politics. We have one person to thank for all of this---Barack Obama. If the Supers regret their votes, they may set Hillary up to be the nominee.

In doing so, the Democrats will ensure a bloodbath with all the Obama supporters angered at seeing their candidate removed from the nomination. Hillary supporters already believe Obama has been "selected, not elected" the Democratic nominee.

For those that live in Denver, the rest of America feels tremendously bad for you. We don't want to switch places, but we do feel bad nonetheless.

Stay tuned for the drama that will unfold before, during, and after the convention. Should Hillary fail to have her name placed in the roll---watch her supporters exact revenge by working for McCain's victory (as some are already doing).

This is another reason that McCain needs to choose wisely for a VP candidate. Democrats praising him is one thing, but securing your base for the election is more important right now. I do admire Hillary's statement at the end---it was funny!
